Gastric bypass is an extreme way of calorie restriction. You can
restrict your caloric intake while still getting essential nutrients,
proteins and healthy fats.
This is accomplished by filling your stomach with fiber first before you have your meal.
Have your meals 5 hours apart. This gives your stomach time to
fully digest each meal, giving your body what it needs for optimal
nutrition. This increases your body's ability to draw upon fat reserves.
This 5 hour rule is like a daily mini fast. If you ABSOLUTELY MUST
snack, snack wisely, high fiber high protein.
Before each meal, drink 2 16 ounce bottles of water. Then start your meal. Eat the fiber first (Fruits/raw veggies)
The fiber will swell in your stomach as it hits the water you just drank.
This will leave less room for food. Start eating your complex carbs
and proteins and take 12 minutes to eat it. Your brain releases an "I'm
full" hormone after 10 minutes of chewing. This is why some people
still feel so empty after having a smoothie. The release of this hormone
is connected to your chewing mechanism. Most smoothies are blended
beyond the point of chewing. A little grit won't hurt at all.
After your meal, have a large cup of peppermint tea. Peppermint
helps to curb cravings. Tap a small amount under your nose (of the
peppermint OIL) CHEW peppermint gum between meals. If you get a hunger
pang, preoccupy your mind for 8 minutes. Cravings last for 8 minutes.
Resist, and you will be successful. Replace the craving with water...sip
tea slowly (again, trick your tummy by sipping for 10 minutes) Or fill
up on a bottle of water. This will hold you for five hours. Believe me
I've done this and consistency is key here. You will not fall over lol
You will make it.
If this is too much for you, just eat fruits and veggies first in
every meal. You'll still feel full, because you have to chew the raw
foods for longer. However, to get the desired effect, drink water
before your meal. (try for 15 minutes before and after each meal) If you
don't remember, just doing it is better than nothing at all.
P.S. Sometimes, when I encounter a familiar smell, I take deep
whiffs of it, like when I'm passing by KFC or a Pizzeria (yes, I'm vegan
but the stuff still smells good!) and after I've gotten my bellyful of
whiffs, I'm so good and no longer desire it. You can do the same with
chocolate cake :)
Here's a video I did, not sure why it loaded upside down. You can listen to me in bat mode for more great tips.
